THE MOUNTS
In many people these are hardly any higher than the areas around them and in some cases they are even hollows. Each mount is located under the finger of the the same name.

Mercury
The mounts that are the most highly developed on your hands, influence your personality and your health. If you bend your hand right back at the wrist and hold it up at eye level you will be able to see more easily which  of your mounts is most highly developed. Often two or three mounts are equally developed, giving a well-balanced character that is made up of the qualities of both or all three. Occasionally, all the mounts seem to be about equal, in which case your personality will be level headed and your life will most likely be smooth and happy.

Here are some of the main characteristics of people who have a particular one of the mounts predominating:

The Mount of Jupiter An ambitious honourable person, perhaps a leader; likely to marry young, liable to digestive problems resulting from a love of good food; a cross on the mount indicates a happy marriage.

The Mount of Saturn A tall, thin, gloomy person, relatively unsociable; a good student, and possibly very musical; perhaps will remain unmarried; may suffer from illnesses such as rheumatism and nervous complaints.
 
The Mount of Apollo Happy, healthy, athletic and very appreciative of art; will marry, but not happily; may suffer from heart trouble.

The Mount of Mercury Most easily led into illegalities, especially if the mount shows a grille; otherwise, good in business and at games; generally healthy except for a tendency to suffer minor stomach problems.

The Mount of Mars A complex type because of the upper and lower sections of the mount and the Plain of Mars between.This person will be a fighter, mainly aggressive if the lower section predominates and resistive if the upper does; if the plain is well developed, the subject will be short-tempered; this is a stubborn, persistent individual, healthy and energetic.

The Mount of Luna An expressive person of great imagination, but a dreamer; tending towards the impractical; Health can be erratic at times.

The Mount of Venus A loving, considerate and generous individual, happy athough not always good in business, as you can be too honest at times; may be passionate and often tempted by attraction to the opposite sex; tends to marry young and to be very healthy.
