THE HEAD LINE
The Head Line indicates the depth of understanding, level of intelligence and intellectual ability.The head line indicates whether you are a quick impulsive thinker, or tend to plan and think things through before acting. So the length of the headline itself is not an indicator of your overall intelligence, but how you apply your thoughts.

The Head Line usually begins on the Life Line, almost halfway between the thumb and index finger. It goes across the palm either straight towards the Upper Mount of Mars or curving down towards the Mount of Luna.

Where the Head Line goes straight across the palm, the person is practical, a good organizer. If the line slopes towards the Mount of Luna, you can be imaginative with a sensitive nature. This can also indicate that you can be a dreamer, and may never fully use your powers of imagination.

If you have a practical headline you can still have a good imagination, but may achieve more than others, because you can turn your ideas into reality.

If the line reaches the mount of luna, it means great imagination. Where the Head Line slopes the other way, towards the Heart Line, good business or financial abilities are suggested, although if it runs along close to the Heart Line, it can mean a narrower outlook.
If the line is clear and deep for its whole length, you can have great powers of concentration, and will be able to commit yourself strongly to a task. Breaks, chains or islands on this line may diminish this power.
If the Head Line ends in a three-pronged fork, it can indicate strengths in business, imagination and intelligence.

THE LIFE LINE

Energy, health and vitality can be foretold from this line, probably the best known of all lines on the palm.
The longer and clearer it is, the stronger your energies and the ability to apply yourself throughout your life will be. This is because the life line follows around the mount of Venus, where your hands energy is stored.

Normally the Life Line starts from the Head Line, about halfway between the thumb and index finger; indicating a controlled personality. If it begins with a chained effect it suggests a cautious person. A gap between the start of the lifeline and the headline indicate a tendancy towards being impetuous.

Branches from the Life Line to the Head Line are significant. A forked beginning suggest an ability to understand and help others. A pair of branches up to the Head Line from close to the beginning denotes an inheritance or a good start in life.

A branch halfway down indicates success in middle age. Where the Life Line reaches right to the wrist, life will be long, and your strength and energies will be long and balanced over time..
A tasselled or shallow line suggests lack of vitality, at that time in your life.  Breaks in the line are indicative of changes in lifestyle, which may have short term effects on your health or thinking.
